Blue Ridge Care and Katie’s Comfort House Announce Partnership
WINCHESTER, VA, June 25, 2026—Blue Ridge Care and Katie’s Comfort House announce their mutual commitment to develop a collaborative partnership focused on supporting patients and families facing serious illness and end-of-life challenges.
Today, on the fifth anniversary of Katie’s passing, this announcement honors her legacy while establishing a shared vision for the future. Rooted in common values and mutual trust, the partnership reflects both organizations’ commitment to compassion, dignity, comfort, and family-centered support.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to strengthening support for local patients and families,” said Jason Parsons, Blue Ridge Care President & CEO. “By exploring opportunities to work together, we can build on our complementary strengths, expand awareness of available resources, and help ensure families know where to turn when they need support.”
For more than 45 years, Blue Ridge Care has earned the trust of the community through compassionate care, a robust care delivery infrastructure, and a vision for a seamless continuum of care that embraces patients and families throughout their journey.
Katie’s Comfort House was born from the lived experience of people who understand firsthand the challenges families face during life’s final chapter. Its mission fills a unique need by providing a home-like setting focused on comfort, dignity, and support for both patients and their loved ones.
“This partnership is rooted in shared purpose,” said Julie Teets, Founder of Katie’s Comfort House. “Together, we have an opportunity to strengthen support for families in our community while ensuring Katie’s legacy is honored, protected, and carried forward. We are grateful to partner with an organization that shares our values and commitment to compassionate care.”
As community needs continue to evolve, both organizations recognized an opportunity to collaborate more closely. By combining community resources, sharing knowledge, and coordinating efforts, Blue Ridge Care and Katie’s Comfort House believe they can increase awareness and access to support services throughout the region.
The relationship also brings together two deeply caring communities of supporters, united by a common mission to help patients and families navigate life’s most challenging moments with greater comfort and peace.
